How to Troll Weeaboos

Weeaboos are a special type of annoying people. While people may enjoy Japanese cartoons, and otaku obsess over Japanese cartoons, weeaboos take matters to the extreme. They truly start to believe themselves to be Japanese even though they don’t speak the language (often mangling it or misusing words), don’t reside in Japan, and believe Japanese cartoons are the be-all-end-all of information related to Japan irregardless of realism.

Why troll them? Because it is fun to anger stupid people! Especially when they refuse to learn real Japanese or interact with Japanese culture outside of cartoons or learning about the many other world cultures!

  1. Tell the weeb that the word anime is French in origin and that in Japanese that the word refers to all cartoons no matter their origin. Bonus: tell the weeb that Scooby Doo or The Flinstones or Ren & Stimpy is your favorite anime. If they continue to insist otherwise, have a Japanese speaker around to correct the weeb.
  2. Tell the weeb that anime as a word used in English is redundant as most cartoons are multi-national productions. Exp.: Inspector Gadget is the work from companies based in US, Japan, Canada, and France. Transformers, GI Joe, and many Hasbro staples are made by companies in Japan, US, and Canada. As for modern cartoons these days? Most are animated in one of the 2 Koreas no matter from which country the cartoon is planned.
  3. Tell the weeb they are being illogical by only giving Japanese cartoons a special name and not doing the same for cartoons from, for exp., Britain or Russia. Also tell them that, since they insist on using anime for only Japanese cartoons and expecting Japan to be exactly as portrayed in them, they are being Orientalist which is subset of racism/xenophobia/treating people as “others”.

Doubt this will change them, but it’s a start. Weebs need to leave their world and see the actual world. The actual Japan. Other cartoons outside of mainline Japanese productions. Other cultures. Weebs can either move on, or just add a “d” to their names.

  1. I actually met a few of them maybe 3 months ago on Facebook. I left a comment on Japan Today’s post without the intention to annoy or upset anyone. Guess what? They came at me. 😀
